Most drywall quotes say a price and a number of days and nothing about what is actually going on the wall. That is where the difference between two prices usually lives, so ours says it.
Every wall on our quotes carries a finish level, and the number matters. Level 4 is the standard for a painted wall and is right for most rooms. Level 5 adds a thin skim over the whole surface, worth paying for wherever a big window or a long fixture throws light down the wall, because low sun finds whatever a joint leaves behind. If a competing quote does not name a level, ask which one the price buys.

Drywall is not a feature anybody buys a house for. It is what costs you a sale when it is wrong, because a cracked ceiling or a bad texture match reads to a buyer as a roof problem or a leak, whether or not it is one, and buyers price an unknown far above what the repair costs.

Questions people ask before booking the work
Registered with L&I, bonded, and carrying general liability and workers' compensation. Washington requires all three, and you can check our registration number on the L&I site in about a minute. We send the certificates before we start rather than when somebody asks.
One of our four crews, and the same crew from the first day to the last. Whoever quoted it walks the job with them on the first morning. Nobody is sent to a house they have not been briefed on, and you get the names before anybody shows up.
No. Four crews, all of them ours. It matters more in this trade than most, because the hanger and the finisher have to agree about what a flat wall is, and they only do that if they work together every week. Nobody on your job is on somebody else's payroll.
On larger jobs, once the start date is booked and the board is ordered. Repairs are usually invoiced on completion. Whichever applies is written on the quote before you agree to anything, and we do not ask for money before you have a date.
By stage on a build, on completion for a repair. Bank transfer or card, never cash, and every stage is invoiced so there is a record on both sides. Anybody asking for the full amount before the board goes on is worth two more quotes.
Usually, with a few days' notice. Crews are booked in blocks, so a late change can push you behind another job rather than moving everything by the same number of days. Tell us as soon as you know and we will say honestly what it costs in time.
Whoever quoted it, on a direct number. Not an office line, and not the crew's own phones while they are up on stilts. On a job with several trades running, one point of contact is the difference between a schedule and a rumor.
Drywall on its own does not need one. If a wall is coming out, or framing or electrical is being altered, that work does and the trade doing it pulls it. Insulation has to be inspected before we board, so we book from that date rather than from the framing date.
You can, and people do on small jobs. On a whole house we would rather you did not. Board bought by the pallet and delivered to the day costs less than a truckload sitting on a driveway, and we cannot stand behind sheets that have been out in the weather.
It goes through our liability insurance and you hear it from us the same day. Floors are covered and doorways sealed before anything comes in, so it is rare. But stairs, tight landings and old trim are what they are, and we would rather say so up front.
We walk it with you under a light before the final invoice, because that is when seams show and not before. Anything needing another coat gets one. What is covered after that is set out on your quote, so it is worth reading before you sign it.
Yes, and we would rather you took one. We will give you two or three from the last few months in your part of town and you are welcome to call them. Anybody who will not put you in touch with a recent customer is telling you something.
